Slipknot Bassist Paul Gray Found Dead At The Age Of 38

According to MSNBC, Slipknot bassist and co-founding member Paul Gray was found dead this morning at 10:55. Police say a hotel employee found the 38-year-old Gray dead in a room Monday at the Town Plaza Hotel in Urbandale, a suburb of Des Moines. Foul play isn't suspected and an autopsy is scheduled for tomorrow.
Paul Gray was born in the city of Los Angeles, California but his family would later relocate to Des Moines, Iowa. He began his music career as a member of such bands as Anal Blast and Vexx, amongst others. He was one of only three founding members of Slipknot to remain in the recent lineup of the band, along with percussionist Shawn Crahan and drummer Joey Jordison. The news of his death is made all the more tragic by the fact that he was expecting his first child this year with his wife Brenna.

Bret Michaels rushed to the hospital; has large hole in heart

POISON singer BRET MICHAELS was readmitted to the hospital this week after suffering numbness on the left side of his body, predominately his face and hands which doctors described as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) or warning stroke. While MRI and CT scan tests were being conducted, Michaels also received a Doppler Ultrasound of his legs and lower abdomen looking for blood clots and most importantly an Ultrasound Bubble Test of his heart was conducted which proved positive for a Patent Forum Ovale (PFO), a hole in the heart. Dr. Zabramski (Bret’s neurosurgeon), Dr. Becker (who ordered the test), Dr. Cook (who conducted the test) and Dr. Frey (Director, Outpatient Stroke Program) all confirmed the results.
Dr. Zabramski states: "There is no doubt that the positive Patent Foramen Ovale (PFO) is devastating news to Bret and his family. The good news is that it is operable and treatable and we think we may have diagnosed the problem that caused the Transient Ischemic Attach (TIA) or warning stroke; however we feel it is highly unlikely this is connected to the brain hemorrhage he suffered just a few weeks earlier. Cleveland, Ohio metallers CHIMAIRA will release a DVD/CD set, "Coming Alive", on July 20 via Ferret Music. This unprecedented release includes a four-part documentary filmed over the course of a year and a half while the entire package includes over seven hours of exclusive content. The DVD, filmed entirely in HD, showcases CHIMAIRA in the studio while recording its latest album, "The Infection", and chronicles the band's recent, worldwide touring season.
According to a press release, "Coming Alive" is an in-depth look into CHIMAIRA's life and music in the studio and on the road. Not only does the DVD set include this amazing documentary piece, another section, "Chimaira Xmas: Live Concert Film", celebrates the 10th annual CHIMAIRA Christmas show in Cleveland, Ohio, which took place on December 30, 2009. 13 HD cameras capture CHIMAIRA releasing their fury for their hometown crowd on a dark and snowy night in December. Massachusetts metallers ALL THAT REMAINS are putting the finishing touches on the recording process for their fifth album, due this fall via Prosthetic Records/Razor & Tie.
Commented vocalist Phil Labonte: "The more these songs get into shape, the more excited I get. This isn't 'Overcome Two'. It's not 'The Fall Of Ideals Two'. It's very dynamic, heavy, and experimental. We've always had songs that went into different directions and this disc will be no different."
To engage fans in the recording process for the new CD, ALL THAT REMAINS members Phil Labonte (vocals), Oli Herbert (guitar), Mike Martin (guitar), Jeanne Sagan (bass) and Jason Costa (drums) have set up AllThatRemainsTV.com, a streaming video site set up in their recording studio.
